Mrs Beatrice Matick

March 2, 2022

We mournfully announce the passing of Beatrice Virginia Matick, 84, of Middletown. She went to see Jesus on March 2, 2022. Mrs. Matick was born in Millington, Maryland in April 1937 on a dairy farm with no running water or electricity. She is the daughter of the late B.Julian and Mary Belle (Comerford) Jackson. Bea met her first husband the late George Smullen at a USO dance in Dover, Delaware when he was in the Air Force. She met her second husband the late Anthony Matick at Anchor Glass where she worked for 30 years as an Inspector. Bea raised her seven children in Middletown. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Church was her passion. She shared with her family a lifelong love of animals. She had them all; monkeys, cows, goats, horses, dogs, cats and birds. Many of the strays brought home stayed. She loved cooking, parties in her yard, bowling and singing hymns. Above all, her family and friends were her greatest joy. Bea was predeceased by her sons David Smullen and Paul Smullen. She is survived by; her Daughter-in-law Rosemarie Smullen daughter Kay Golden and her husband Fred, Alan Smullen and his wife Denise, Judy Bloxham and her husband Robert Bloxham, Anthony Matick and his wife Marianna, Michelle Matick and her husband Michael. Beatrice is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua, Mary, Darrel, Kieran, Sean, Anne Margaret, Alison, Raymond, Brian, Darlene, Rebecca, Veronica, Andrew. Aiden, Alexander and Daniel, and her great grandchildren Laef, Eamon, Shea, Caydence, Edward, Henry, Emma and Robert. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, March 7 at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo, NJ. Burial will follow the service in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 6 from 02:00-5:00pm at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo, NJ.
