Mrs Joanne Gordon

Joanne Gordon, age 79, of Middletown died Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Center For Hope Hospice And Palliative Care of Scotch Plains, NJ. Mrs. Gordon was born in Bayonne, NJ to Charles and Anne Bonner. Mrs Gordon attended Holy Family Academy in Bayonne and graduated from Seton Hall University. She was a lifelong educator and taught in Jersey City and Thorne Middle School in Middletown, NJ for over 25 years. A devout Catholic, she was a 3rd Order Carmelite Nun and a member of Catholic Daughters. Proud of her Irish heritage she received her Irish citizenship and wore her Donegal bracelet to the end. Always the life of the party, still in touch with her friends from elementary school she was the life of the party and always up for a glass of wine, beer or a trip to Boscov’s. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert E Gordon and her siblings Frances O’Donnell, George Bonner, James Bonner, Anne Forker and John Bonner and her daughter in law Jill Gordon (Robert Gordon). She is survived by her daughter Karen Gordon and her son Robert Gordon and three grandchildren Connor Gordon, Grant Gordon and Trevor Anselmino. Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Friday, March 18 at John P. Condon Funeral Home, LLC at 804 St Hwy 36, Leonardo, NJ 07737. The funeral will be held 10:00am on Saturday, March 19 at the St. Catherine Laboure Church. Burial will be in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Middletown on Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 am. Family requests no flowers or donations.
