Marian Marker age 90, of Highlands died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Bayside Manor, Keansburg. Born in Binghamton NY she moved to Fort Hancock NJ in 1930 later moving to Middletown and settling in Highlands in 1958. She was a Librarian for both Fort Hancock and Fort Monmouth. She also served as editorial clerk and Secretary for Fort Monmouth before she retired. She worked as a ceramic instructor working out of her home. She was also an organist for 12 years at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Highlands until its closing. She was a communicant of United Methodist Church of Atlantic Highlands. She was a past member of the Highlands First Aid Squad Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Alfred Marker in 2009. The Family would like to give special thanks to the Halcyon Elder Care team for their love, support and advocacy and to all the staff at the Bayside Manor for providing the skilled care and family environment that their mom needed. She is survived by a Daughter and Son in law Merrie and John Dellert of Highlands, NJ; Son and Daughter In Law Alfred And Nicole Marker Jr. of Highlands, NJ; Daughter and Son in Law Elizabeth and Sam Cappuccio Hammonton, NJ; a daughter in law Anne Parker; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by a Brother James Hand of Rockville MD and Several nieces and nephews. Friends and Family are invited to call at the John P. Condon Funeral Home on Monday January 17 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes on Tuesday January 18 at 11:00 am. The burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown. The family asks that expressions of sympathy be sent to the Food Bank of Atlantic Highlands.
