Mrs Ruth F Lopomo

Ruth “Mrs. Jersey Joe” Lopomo age 78, of Port Monmouth died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Newark and lived there before moving to Port Monmouth in 1960. Mrs. Lopomo was a member of the Port Monmouth Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary the Elks 2179, VFW 2179 and many other organizations. She was the Deborah Hospital woman of the year in 1985. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Lopomo in 1995, her parents George and Florence, and sister Virginia Pelosi. She is survived by her son and wife Frank and Nancy Gioia of Port Monmouth also a son and his wife Joseph and Valerie Lopomo of Belford. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amanda Buron, Tanya Gioia, Joseph and Antonio Lopomo. Surviving also are Great Grandchildren Jessica and Francesca Buron. Two sisters Virgine Carpenter and Lynn Lilore are also surviving. Funeral Services will be held 9:30AM Wednesday at St. Catherine’s, 5 Shore Acres Ave, Middletown. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. The family will receive their friends 2-4 and 7-9pm Tuesday at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo, NJ.
