William Michael Slade, Sr, age 77, of Atlantic Highlands died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Riverview Medical Center of Red Bank, NJ. Mr. Slade was born in the Roslindale section of Boston, MA , and lived in Marshfield Massachusetts and Salisbury Maryland before moving to New Jersey. He lived in Aberdeen before moving to Atlantic Highlands. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War with MACV in the Army from 1965 to 1966. After the army he worked as a printer for South Shore Publishing in Scituate MA & Salisbury MD, before moving to NJ where he worked for various printing companies until his retirement some years ago. He was a big Boston sports and known affectionally by his friends as “Boston Bill”. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and crabbing; his trips to Atlantic City; and cruses. Family was very important to him, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildern. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret (Killion) Slade; and brothers Joseph and Thomas Slade. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Carolyn (Fiore) Slade; his children William Jr and his wife Laura Slade, Michael, and Christine (Slade) Miller and her husband Shawn; and grandchildren Sinead, Patrick, Caitlin, Connor, Michael, Catherine, and Johnathan. He is also survived by his brother Robert and his wife Catherine and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24 at St. Agnes Church, 103 Center Ave, Atlantic Highlands, NJ with officiating. Burial will be in Bayview Cemetery, Leonardo on at .
